With her success in brand management for Smashbox Cosmetics and Kate Somerville Skincare, it was clear that Josie Maran Cosmetics VP of Marketing, Amy Liu, was a popular Thought Leader at Beauty Biz Roundtable BBR9.
As an expert in brand management and small business growth, Amy Liu has worked for three of the hottest and fastest growing brands in Beauty over the course of 10+ years. After earning her MBA in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from USC, she served as the Director of Marketing at both Smashbox Cosmetics and Kate Somerville Skincare during rapid expansion. Based on her track record of success, Amy was recruited to Josie Maran Cosmetics as Employee #5 as their Vice President of Marketing. She has executed creative and transformative marketing solutions for this lifestyle brand that have resulted in rapidly growing business across category. Under her stewardship, the company has added 50 employees and quintupled its sales.
During her BBR9 roundtable, Liu shared her experiences marketing for Smashbox Cosmetics and Kate Somerville Skincare. Her roundtable topic of discussion was on “Launching & Growing Distribution for Emerging Brands“, in which she discussed the importance of creating a strong customer experience, how to work with limited sources, the need for product sampling, what it’s like to work with Sephora and Neiman Marcus, and the benefits of selling on QVC.
