Face Retirement by Bank of America/Merrill Edge: What will YOU look like?
With financial stress looming over our daily lives, it’s no wonder some of us are starting to see more worry lines on our foreheads.
But leave it to Bank of America and Merrill Edge to develop a website called Face Retirement, which gives you a preview on what you’ll look like by the time you reach retirement age. The goal? To encourage you to start saving.
“People who saw age-enhanced images of themselves were more likely to save more for retirement, compared to those who weren’t exposed to their future selves,” Alok Prasad, the head of Merrill Edge, said.
It’s actually quite logical since it forces people (especially women) to visualize and think ahead, especially since Allure’s Aging Survey revealed that 50% of women said their biggest worry about advancing in years is feeling less attractive.
The website also provides facts about the rising cost of living and tips on how to start preparing for retirement now.
In a culture where we’re obsessed with aging, perhaps seeing how we might look in the future (sun spots and all) maybe just the thing to kickstart preparations for retirement before it’s too late.
And admit it…aren’t you the least bit curious about what you’ll look like in the future?
