LET THE “FUN-RAISING” BEGIN

Beverly Hills-based JPMS Paul Mitchell beauty schools has just announced that woman of the hour, Betty White, as well as Dolly Parton, have joined the lineup of celebrities who will participate in the brand’s “fun-raising” campaign for 2011, launching February 1.

Seven celebrity-backed charities will work with the nationwide network of Paul Mitchell beauty schools, representing 12,000 future beauty professionals across the USA, to meet a goal of $1.5 million for the array of good causes. The campaign will last from February until April, 2011.

Animal advocate White, who was recently named an Honorary Forest Ranger by the US Forest Service (we love the hat), represents the Morris Animal Foundation, which funds humane veterinary research on animal disease.

Also new to the campaign this year is Dolly Parton, whose Imagination Library program empowers children’s literacy and reading.

Other celebs and their causes include Fran Drescher and her “Cancer Schmancer” movement, dedicated to early diagnosis and treatment of women’s cancers; Children’s Miracle Network founded by Donny and Marie Osmond, serving 17 million children in 170 children’s hospitals; and The Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation, which provides support to the caregivers of those with chronic illnesses.

Along with JPMS CEO John Paul DeJoria, Gibbons will co-host the annual fundraising banquet, The Magic of Memories, in Newport Beach, California in May, 2011.
