WWD announces 2011 Beauty Inc. Awards: Sally Hansen, Clairol’s, Avon & More!

In it’s 9th Annual Beauty Inc. Awardsacknowledging the beauty industry’s most innovative ideas, initiatives and products for 2011, WWD announced this year’s top beauty product winners!

Mass market color cosmetics: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure ($6.99) was awarded for its innovation (5 coats in one!) and professional-quality results.

Mass market skin care: Physicians Formula‘s new skin care line ($10 and up), available exclusively at Walmart, was recognized for bringing a results-driven dermatological skin care brand to the mass market.

Mass market hair care: Clairol’s Nice’n Easy Color Blend Foam ($9.99) took the lead against other new foam hair color products thanks to a quick-dissolve formula that proved easier and faster to use.

Mass market fragrance: Avon’s Outspoken Intense by Fergie ($30 for 1.7fl oz) broke sales records for the company and also earned Fergie a FiFi Award for New Celebrity Fragrance of the Year.

Prestige market color cosmetics: Dior Addict Lipstick ($27.50) was a global success thanks to a Kate Moss-fronted campaign, color spread of 44 shades and a innovative blend of oils and polymers the company called “mirror jelly”.
Prestige market skin care: Lancome‘s new, bestselling anti-aging serum, Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector ($84), boasts multiple corrective and preventative uses and was promoted in the company’s first-ever multiethnic ad campaign.

Prestige market hair care: Designed to complement their proprietary in-salon straightening treatment, ConcenStraight, Bumble and Bumble‘s new Straight line of hair care products ($26 and up) met consumer demands and raised standards.

Prestige market fragrance: Justin Bieber‘s new fragrance, Someday ($55 for 3.4 fl oz), shattered sales records and earned consumer support for donating all proceeds to charities.
