PEER-POWER: PBA

One of the best things about the beauty biz is the sense of community and support within our profession. Getting into the mix is as easy as joining www.probeauty.org. Check this out!

The Professional Beauty Association is the largest organization of salon professionals in our universe of hair, cosmetics, nails, skincare and more. The membership represents salons and spas, distributors, manufacturers, and of course beauty pro’s.

The mission of the PBA is to provide tools needed for success in our industry. This includes ongoing information and education about government advocacy and best practices, health care reforms and tax info for your business.

PBA supports powerful and meaningful nonprofits, including “CUT IT OUT”, which enlists beauty professionals to break the cycle of domestic violence.

And joining PBA includes lots of fun stuff, too, like networking opportunities and events, competitions and awards. Being part of PBA puts you right in the thick of trend reporting and forecasting. For instance, log onto the website and read the hot debate over the return of the salon perm—who knew?

There’s still time to book your seat at the Midwest International Salon and Spa Expo, taking place in Rosemont, IL March 26 – 28—just click the link above. Meanwhile, here’s the PBA mantra: “Connected, current, educated, informed, involved.”
