Often Too Busy, but never Too Thankful

Over the years, I have rarely taken the time to actually write down what I’m thankful for. But 2009 had its ups and downs, and I’m really excited to have a forum to share my thoughts with you.

In an economy where California state unemployment is at 12.3% and Los Angeles County is at 12.6% (EDD numbers for October 2009), Recruiting as an industry has been hit extremely hard. I’m thankful that I’ve been through this cycle a time or two before and have always come out stronger on the other side. This time will be no exception.

I’m thankful that although the economy is suffering, the experts in the Beauty, Lifestyle and Wellness industries will also finish 2009 stronger. The crops have been thinned and those remaining have been left to grow deeper roots, spread their limbs and stem new leaves.

I’m truly thankful that “I love what I do!” And I can’t imagine doing anything else. I love making invaluable connections with people…changing the course of someone’s career or focusing the efforts of a company. When a Recruiter sticks to their profession for 10+ years, they aren’t doing it just for the money, because the money comes and goes.

I’m truly thankful that so many of the candidates I’ve worked with over the years find value in the advice I give them. Better yet, that this advice has helped them get the job of their dreams. Whether it’s through me or their own efforts, makes no difference. I love helping make a difference in someone’s career.

I’m so absolutely thankful for having Jenn Harrison on my team, and for the efforts of Product360. Ever since we made the decision to re-launch Mazur Group, Jenn has tirelessly helped me refine our brand. And because focusing on Beauty, Lifestyle and Wellness requires a high degree of style, we could entrust no other than Product360 to help us achieve the look and feel we’re going for. I hope it resonates as well with you!!!

Today I realized, maybe for the first time, that I’m truly thankful I live in place where I am free to choose my life. If nothing else, this year has taught me that creating your destiny isn’t easy, but it’s my road to choose. I’m confident that we’ll get there, and I’m happy to work really hard for my clients, candidates, myself, and my staff along the way. By supporting the Beauty community here in Southern California, hopefully we can make each of our lives a little better.

Above all else, I’m so thankful to have my health and the health of my family and friends.

Thank you for listening and Happy Thanksgiving.
